EQUIPMENT

X2-SOLARIX HIGH PERFORMANCE: Ultimate tanning results in just 12 minutes or less, while virtually suspended in mid-air. You will be surrounded by vertically placed lamps that outperform all others by two times, with twice the power. Your session in the Solarix is an experience! Solarix has the largest most comfortable tanning surface imaginable. It's frosted acrylics, frosted air shower tubes and vibrant under-carriage lighting create a mysterious and inviting glow. You will achieve maximum color from the X2-Solarix.

SUNSPORT 2021 HIGH PERFORMANCE: The Sunsport is the only Sunsport in our area. It features more lamps than any other High Performance Bed and the lamp output is higher as well. This unit allows you to tan with very minimal risk of burning. The highter UVA lamp offers a longer lasting tan. One reason for this is that this unit has a minimal amount of UVB which can result in sunburn if exposed without caution. The lower UVB output is also less drying to your skin, so it does not exfoliate as quickly, which allows your tan to last much longer. This unit tans with fewer sessions than a standard or medium pressure unit allowing you to achieve great color in less time. Since this unit is much gentler on your skin, it does not give you the same protection from sunburn as the other types of tanning units. The best way to achieve great color quickly from this unit is to tan for a few minutes in a VIP Bed or the Standup unit the day before using the Sunsport. This combination tanning package allows the UVB from the other units to stimulate more melanin for your tanning so that the higher UVA output from the Sunsport can really darken your tan quickly and effectively. It=s a real burst of color the day before your vacation or special events.

STANDUP/SUNUPII: This 48/2 Standup unit features many unique benefits. With it's maximum 10 minute session time, it allows you to tan in only half the time. Since you are not laying on a surface there are not any pressure points which may cause impaired circulation which can result in less or no color in certain areas. The Standup unit can be used to even out your tan and help tan those hard-to-tan areas. Our Standup unit is unlike any other in the area, in that we have an upgraded lamp configuration. This means we have gone to the extra expense, for your benefit, of replacing the standard lamp combination and installed very high output lamps in combination with lamps that actually have reflectors build right into the lamp for your maximum tanning results. The Standup also includes 2-500W facial tanners that can adjust to the clients height, to give your delicate face a deep rich tan without the risk of burning. This is a great unit to alternate tanning every few visits to even out those hard-to-tan areas. It's also a breat boost prior to using the Sunsport High Performance Unit.

GOLDSTAR/VIP GOLD 4200: Island Sun features the only Medium Pressure Goldstar Tanning Unit in this area with the lamp configuration we have chosen for this unit. The same lamp cooling system and body cooling systems are also featured with this unit, setting it apart from any other medium pressure unit available. The three facial tanners in this unit can be used to even out your facial tan or they can be turned off completely if you prefer not to tan your face. This unit maximizes your tanning experience while allowing you to tan in a very short, but complete and relaxing time frame. This unit is best utilized in conjunction with the VIP GOLD 3200 Units by alternating through this unit after every third or fourth time in the VIP GOLD 3200 Units. The reason this is so effective is the highter UV output of this unit really deepens the color you have established in the VIP GOLD 3200 Units and prolongs the life of your tan.

PACIFICA: This unit is a brilliant combination of high pressure, 160 watt and 100 watt technology, that takes tanning results to the limit. The Pacifica is a magnificent choice for a deep dark tan in less time. Maximum session time is only 12 minutes.

SANTA BARBARA: The Santa Barbara is a luxurious low pressure unit with high pressure facials where you will achieve a beautiful tan in 15 minutes or less. It provides endless customer satisfaction.

VIP GOLD 3200: These units have high quality reflectors and lamp combinations which increase the results of every tanning visit. High quality contoured acrylics that are much more comfortable than your standard tanning acrylics and our acrylics are replaced on a regular basis to insure high quality light penetration from our lamps. The VIP GOLD units also feature a longer, wider tanning surface and the lamps are staggered for better tanning of your face and the back of your neck. Our units are the only units with the built in body blowers that are connected directly to our buildings air conditioning system for comfort during the tanning session. The superior lamp cooling system of these units also insures a much greater lamp life and UV output. We require no appointments for these units, so you can walk in at your convenience.

CLASSIC LEG TANNER: This unit is wonderful for your hard-to tan legs. It features 38 high output reflector lamps, that actually wrap up around the inside of your legs. We offer the only Classic Leg Tanner in SW Washington, which is great to use by itself, to alternate with the conventional lay down beds, or in conjunction with the High Performance Sunsport Unit.

MYSTIC HD UV-FREE BOOTH: An exciting innovation in Sunless Tanning. Our MyMyst MysticHD UV-Free Tannig Unit offers MagnaTan Technology for an even, deep streak-free sunless tan. HD Technology adds heat to your tanning experience, plus an added full body drying feature during the application process. The heat conditions the skin for maximum absorption and a deeper, longer-lasting tan, leaving the skin soft and smooth, plus it accelerates the sunless tan's development. The individual Myst cartridges give a completely personalized sunless tan. Your sunless tan applies in seconds, 90 seconds to be exact, and lasts for days. For darker, long-lasting results, follow all pre-tan instructions, use our NEW Prestige product line. You may also choose to tan in a UV tanning unit prior to your MyMyst Session.

UV-FREE AIRBRUSH TANNING: A UV Free Airbrush Tanning System that quickly provides the customer with a natural golden brown color. The active ingredient in the sunless spray is dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which reacts with the proteins in the upper layer of the skin to provide a tan and darkens with repeated applications. You will notice color within 2-3 hours and the color will darken for up to 24 hours. This cosmetic tan will last 4-6 days and should be repeated once a week to keep the tan. Full body application takes approximately 20 min., and normally takes 5-8 minutes for the solution to dry before dressing.

TANNING PRODUCTS: At Island Sun we offer a full line of Tanning Products.. We have chosen to carry products from California Tan and Designer Skin. These are top of the line products we feel will be the most beneficial for excellent tanning results and skin care. Lotions increase your tanning results by 40%-60%, while keeping the skin moisturized. Dry skin will not tan, the skin must contain the moisture needed to accept the tanning process.
We offer Tanning Products for the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Tanner including: After-Tan Moisturizers, Body Washes (for the bath/shower), Self-Tanners, SPF=s, Burn Relief Gel, Lip Protection, Protective Eye Wear, and Hair Protection.
Tanning is a 24 hour process, and you must take care of your skin before and after the tanning process by replenishing the vitamins, minerals and moisture that the skin needs for optimal tanning results. Island Sun has two restrooms available for your convenience as well as a freshen-up area with a large mirror in our main hall. This area is stocked with wet wipes to remove your makeup prior to tanning so that you can achieve an even tan on your face or to remove a bronzing lotion from the palms of your hands prior to tanning to prevent staining. It also includes deodorant and hair spray for you convenience.
