Island Sun has been chosen as one of the Top 250 Salons in the nation for 2009
by Looking Fit Magazine.
For the tenth consecutive year, editors of Looking Fit have committed themselves to identifying the most innovative, professionally focused and fastest-growing salons in the United States. During this year's selection process, Island Sun was chosen from many surveys that were submitted.
The selection process is stringent and involves many steps. Nominations came in from virtually every area of the industry, including manufacturers, distributors and industry veterans, all of whom have continually demonstrated a high level of commitment to the tanning industry each year. In addition to these nominatioins, names of extraordinary salons encountered during past Looking Fit Tanning Tours and an overwhelming collection of surveys sent in by salon owners and managers were included. Hundreds of salons were worthy of a spot in the Top 250.
To help ensure the most accurate Top 250 listing posssible, the judging committee, which also included the National Tanning Training Institute, conducted hundreds of phone interviews to gather and carefully validate information. Salons that participated in certification programs, and ongoing training were factored favorably. Also, a salon's community commitment - demonstrated by participation in charities and other public-service functions - was weighed positively.
This prestigious distinction sets Island Sun apart from the competition.
